Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was unable to be obtained from Mt. View Jester, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.
Extreme Days was quick to begin. Premier Slice and Memory Lass were slow to begin.
Myola Frost and Jet Burner collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Memory Lass galloped on Calthorpe on the first turn checking both greyhounds. Extreme Days visibly eased and turned its head to the outside approaching the home turn. Mt. View Jester and Capital Kay collided on the home turn checking Capital Kay which collided with Extreme Days, subsequesntly checking Extreme Days and Capital Kay. Premier Slice and Myola Frost collided entering the home straight.
Extreme Days underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have injuries to the right wrist and right monkey muscles, a 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer, Mr Brian Weis regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Extreme Days was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Weis pleaded guilty to the charge, Extreme Days was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. Robert Proctor regarding the racing manners of Capital Kay on the home turn. After hearing evidence from Mr. Proctor, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, Stewards took no further action.
