Grand Warrior and Little Herbie were slow to begin.
Myola Sunrise, Myola Dawn and Atlantic Lady collided soon after the start. Myola Dawn, Atlantic Lady and Little Herbie collided approaching the first turn; checking Little Herbie and Grand Warrior. Myola Sunrise checked off Marli Ann on the first turn. Atlantic Lady and Grand Warrior collided on the home turn and again approaching the winning post. Myola Sunrise raced wide in the home straight.
