Steward's Report

In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 27.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.2 degrees.  The Stewards continually monitored the temperature at the venue as per the GRV Hot Weather Policy. 

Black Booker was quick to begin.  Tinker To Burn and Saint Bogan were slow to begin.

Black Booker, Joffa's Impala and Little Trucker collided soon after the start; checking Joffa's Impala and Little Trucker.  Our Boy Benny and Calthorpe collided several times approaching the first turn.  Super Remi and Black Booker collided approaching the first turn.  Tinker To Burn, Little Trucker, Joffa's Impala and Black Booker collided on the first turn; severely checking Black Booker.  Calthorpe, Our Boy Benny and Super Remi collided approaching the home turn, checking Super Remi.  Black Booker raced wide on the home turn.  Calthorpe and Our Boy Benny collided in the home straight.  Our Boy Benny and Saint Bogan collided approaching the winning post.

Calthorpe underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have neck soreness and abrasions to the left and right hindleg toes.  A three day stand down period was imposed.
