Due to Government Social Distancing Laws under COVID–19 and acting in accordance with GAR 51 (10), the Stewards have directed that the boxing process in Victoria will revert to and continue under the 4–wave model being 1 & 5 boxed first, followed by 3 & 7, followed by 2 & 6, followed by 4 & 8.  Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times.

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore facemasks/covers that in–turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race–day functions and operations.

Hurricane Miami was a late scratching at 2:08 pm by order of Stewards after it was established that the incorrect greyhound had been presented.  At a subsequent inquiry, the Stewards charged trainer, Mrs V Sultana with a breach of GAR 31 for failing to present the correct greyhound to the Stewards for this event.  Mrs V Sultana, representative of Hurricane Miami, pleaded guilty to the charge on behalf of Mrs V Sultana, who was fined $250.  The 28 days stand-down on Hurricane Miami was revoked.

Southern Bell was slow to begin.

Damaged and Rajah collided soon after the start; checking Our Boy Benny and Rajah.  Damaged checked off Amlin Frozen on the first turn.  Our Boy Benny and Amlin Frozen collided on the home turn.

It was noted that the muzzle of Coffee Run became dislodged during the running of the event.

A pre-race was unable to be obtained from Bellbird, a post-race sample was subsequently taken.

Bull's Roar was slow to begin.  Rag Time Joey stumbled at box rise and was slow to begin.

Minutiae crossed in soon after the start; checking Big Tango and She's Our Rocket.  Bellbird and She's Our Rocket collided on the first turn.  Bomber's Train checked off Minutiae on the first turn.  Bull's Road visably eased approaching the home turn, checking Captain Goldie.  Rag Time Joey checked off Captain Goldie on the home turn.  Bellbird and Bull's Roar collided approaching the winning post.

Rag Time Joey underwent a post-race veterinary examination due to an incident in the catching pen.  Was found to have a right foreleg scapula injury.  A 28 day stand down period was imposed.

Bull's Roar underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have right hindleg hock and thigh injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr K Richards regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Bull's Road was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Richards pleaded guilty to the charge, Bull's Roar was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Strive was quick to begin.

Krakatoa, Black Strat and Laser Blue collided soon after the start, checking Black Strat.  Poppo's Legacy and Grab That Earn collided on the first turn, checking Grab That Earn.  Krakatoa and Laser Blue collided on the first turn.  Earn The Blur checked off Strive approaching the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Ms L Smith regarding the racing manners of Earn The Blur on the first turn.  After hearing evidence from Ms Smith, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn.

Sovereign Strike – Late scratching at 1:49 pm due to weight variation (GAR 39).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Trainer, Mr L Green was fined $100.

Broady Lights was quick to begin.  Don't Get Lippy and Amazing Roy collided on the first turn; checking both greyhounds.  Broady Lights and Barrabooka collided on the first turn.  Broady Lights, Barrabooka and Chicken Schnitty collided on the home turn.  Broady Lights and Barrabooka collided in the home straight; causing Barrabooka to collided with Chicken Schnitty; checking Broady Lights.  Boardy Lights galloped on Amazing Roy approaching the winning post.

Bomber's Wonder was quick to begin.  Eagle Jet was slow to begin.

Eagle Jet underwent a post-race veterinary examination at the trainer’s request and was found to have spike wounds to the left wrist and webbing.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Shamrock Boy – Proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52. 

Boes Bounty was slow to begin.

Dynamic Ross and Mad Eye Madam collided approaching the first turn, checking Dynamic Ross.  Lightning Blast, Ripplebrook Glen and Mad Eye Madam collided on the first turn, checking Mad Eye Madam.  Dynamic Ross and Mad Eye Madam collided approaching the home turn; checking both greyhounds.  Ripplebrook Glen brushed the running rail entering the home straight.

Blazin' Jewel was quick to begin.

The Stewards spoke with Mr David Condon via phone, the representative of Koh Lipe in relation to the bona fides of the withdrawal from this race.  Mr Condon made several submissions relating to the circumstances of the withdrawal.  Stewards noted these submissions and acting in accordance with GAR 20 (3) (v), a veterinary certificate has been ordered by Stewards, before any further nominations are accepted for Koh Lipe.

Lovin' The Sun and Busy Izzy collided soon after the start, checking Busy Izzy.  How's It Alice and Sweet Chanelle collided on the first turn, checking Sweet Chanelle.

Noaki Street underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right foreleg monkey muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer, Mr J Reynolds regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn and entering the home straight.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Noaki Street was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Reynolds pleaded guilty to the charge, Naoki Street was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial  in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
