Steward's Report
A pre-race sample was taken from Chasing Honey.
Aston Ruston, Mahogany Queen and Summer Alarm collided soon after the start; checking Aston Ruston and Mahogany Queen. Gotham Duchess checked off Barellen Pearl approaching the first turn and collided with Aston Ruston. Summer Alarm and Dynamite Miss collided on the first turn; checking Barellen Pearl and Chasing Honey. Aston Ruston and Chasing Honey raced wide on the home turn. Gotham Duchess turned its head inwards and marred Summer Alarm approaching the winning post.
Gotham Duchess underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have mouth, abdominal muscle and right hindleg pencil/whip injuries. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Thomas Boehmke, the trainer of Gotham Duchess regarding the greyhound’s racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Gotham Duchess was charged with marring. Mr Boehmke pleaded guilty to the charge, Gotham Duchess was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Horsham and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69(2) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.
