Steward's Report
King Brown – Late scratching at 5:27pm due to non–arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr Leathan had informed Stewards that he had broken down en-route to Warrnambool. After receiving some follow-up material, the Stewards were entirely satisfied that the circumstances surrounding the non-arrival were established and removed the 28 day stand down, in accordance with GAR 31.
Zipping Coby and Annie My Mate collided soon after the start. Mystery Road and Rower's Rule collided soon after the start. Zipping Coby and Annie My Mate collided approaching the first turn, checking Annie My Mate. Mr. Blurton stumbled and lost ground on the first turn.
Mr. Blurton underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race six. Mr. Blurton was found to have a left chest muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr K.Ward, the trainer of Mr. Blurton regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. In accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Mr Ward to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Mr. Blurton in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
