A pre-race sample was taken from Need A Jockey.
Need A Jockey and Lektra Boogie collided soon after the start. Graphic Design, Swift Brittany and Cawbourne Coco collided approaching the first turn. Lektra Boogie checked off Molly Tessa approaching the first turn. Graphic Design, Swift Brittany, Idalia Bale and Molly Tessa collided on the first turn; checking Molly Tessa; severely checking Idalia Bale, which faltered and pulled up. Need A Jockey checked off Lektra Boogie approaching the home turn. Molly Tessa raced wide on the home turn.
Idalia Bale underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Following the running of this event, Stewards inspected the track on the first turn and were satisfied it was satisfactory for racing.
