Send Me Dizzy and Aston Orazio collided soon after the start. Westside Warrior and Rockabye Bear collided soon after the start. Mr. Bent Lee and Send Me Dizzy collided on the first turn, checking Send Me Dizzy. Aston Orazio, She's So Sassy and Friesian Flyer collided on the first turn; checking Aston Orazio; severely checking She's So Sassy, which became unbalanced and collided with Friesian Flyer; resulting in Fresian Flyer being severely checked. Rockbye Bear, She's So Sassy and Friesian Flyer collided approaching the home turn, checking Friesian Flyer. She's So Sassy and Rockabye Bear collided several times in the home straight.
She's So Sassy underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the back left toe, lumbo-sacral and left hindleg back muscle injuries. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Ms M Kirillidis regarding the racing manners of She's So Sassy on the first turn. After hearing evidence from Ms Kirillidis, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the first turn.
