At kennelling time, the Stewards interviewed the Kennel Representative of Tears No More - Mr Greg Turnbull with regard to the preparation and suitability of this race for the chaser given exposed form, experience and current maiden status. Mr Turnbull stated that Tears No More was conditioned properly for the race and distance having trialled here recently over the same distance in a steady time. The class of the race however was a different matter but it was noted that Maidens were eligible for this Special Event and the nomination was accepted by the racing team. Mr Turnbull elaborated that Tears No More is more so suited to distance racing but there is somewhat limited opportunity generally to do so in Maiden class. The Stewards advised they would monitor the performance of Tears No More in the race. Post-Race - The Stewards were satisfied with that the performance of Tears No More was acceptable. 

Mick's Kimmy was slow to begin.  Mick's Kimmy and Tears No More collided on the first turn.  Shamrock Boy, Weblec Diamond and Christo Bale collided on the first turn.  Shamrock Boy and Christo Bale collided on the second turn.  Mick's Kimmy and Tears No More collided approaching the home turn.  mick's Kimmy and Tears No More collided on the home turn.
