Dusty Lyn visibly eased soon after the start and tailed off as a result. Friesian Flyer and Lala Eucalyptus collided on the first turn.  Friesian Flyer and Tinker Jenny collided on the first turn.  Roxy Patron checked off Postman Pickett approaching the home turn, checking Roxy Patron.  Lala Fig and Lala Eucalyptus collided approaching the home turn.

Dusty Lyn underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg back muscle injury, a seven day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to the trainer Mrs A. Dailly regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69B (1), Dusty Lyn was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs  A. Dailly pleaded guilty to the charge, Dusty Lyn was found guilty and must perform a Satisfactory Trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Roxy Quaker was slow to begin. Daph's Yak, Western Country and Resse's Girl collided soon after the start, checking Western Country and Daph's Yak.  Stalking Shadow and Resse's Girl collided approaching the first turn.  Roxy Quaker and Daph's Yak collided approaching the first turn, checking Roxy Quaker.  Stalking Shadow, Resse's Girl, Gypsy Andy, Roxy Rum Pumper and Aston Orazio collided on the first turn, severely checking Gypsy Andy.  Western Country galloped on the heels of Resse's Girl approaching the home turn, checking Aston Orazio which fell; severely checking Stalking Shadow, Western Country, Roxy Rum Pumper and Gypsy Andy, in turn Western Country, Roxy Rum Pumper and Stalking Shadow raced wide as a result.  Gypsy Andy checked off the heels of Roxy Rum Pumper approaching the home turn.  Gypsy Andy and Stalking Shadow collided in the home straight. 

Stalking Shadow underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. 

Aston Orazio underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left fore monkey muscle injury. A ten day stand down period was imposed.

Trending Snow was slow to begin and trailled the field for the remainder of the event. Tiggerlong Jet checked off Roxy Ouzo approaching the first turn. 

Trending Snow underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Mrs Dailly declined the option of a re-vetting. Stewards spoke to Mrs A. Dailly , the trainer of Trending Snow regarding its performance in this event  Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Trending Snow must perform a Satisfactory Trial pursuant to GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Zipping Sullivan, Denzell Bale and Abalone Fozz collided soon after the start, checking Denzell Ball.  Amarillo Highway and Denzell Bale collided approaching the first turn, checking Ikaruga Bale.  Barooga Dodge checked off Amarillo Highway approaching the first turn.  Amarillo Highway checked off Denzell Bale, severely checking Amarillo Highway which in turn collided with Aston Moscato.  Barooga Dodge and Amarillo Highway collided on the home turn. 

Sunset Bourbski and Weblec Haze collided shortly after the start. Burn Time and Razor's Edge collided on the first turn.  Weblec Haze, Fully Roasted and Ellias Bale collided on the first turn.

Jay Bird and Keenando collided soon after the start.  Weblec Blade checked off New Jack Swing on the first turn.  New Jack Swing, Weblec Blade and Jay bird collided approaching the home turn, checking Jay Bird. 

At kennelling time, the Stewards interviewed the Kennel Representative of Tears No More - Mr Greg Turnbull with regard to the preparation and suitability of this race for the chaser given exposed form, experience and current maiden status. Mr Turnbull stated that Tears No More was conditioned properly for the race and distance having trialled here recently over the same distance in a steady time. The class of the race however was a different matter but it was noted that Maidens were eligible for this Special Event and the nomination was accepted by the racing team. Mr Turnbull elaborated that Tears No More is more so suited to distance racing but there is somewhat limited opportunity generally to do so in Maiden class. The Stewards advised they would monitor the performance of Tears No More in the race. Post-Race - The Stewards were satisfied with that the performance of Tears No More was acceptable. 

Mick's Kimmy was slow to begin.  Mick's Kimmy and Tears No More collided on the first turn.  Shamrock Boy, Weblec Diamond and Christo Bale collided on the first turn.  Shamrock Boy and Christo Bale collided on the second turn.  Mick's Kimmy and Tears No More collided approaching the home turn.  mick's Kimmy and Tears No More collided on the home turn.

Trending Quartz was slow to begin.
