A pre-race sample was taken from Morticia.
Tinker Dazz, Aston Dynasty and Seen Better collided soon after the start. Aston Dynasty and Zipping Aubry collided soon after the start. Zipping Aubry checked off Morticia on the first turn. Tinker Dazz, Aston Dynasty and Zipping Aubry collided on the first turn checking Tinker Dazz, Zipping Aubry and Hojilla Bale, and causing Aston Dynasty to fall. Morticia raced wide in the home straight. Lilac Sky and Hojilla Bale collided in the home straight. Aston Rocket collided with Seen Better in the home straight.
Aston Rocket underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a thoraco-lumbar injury. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Nicole Cachia regarding the racing manners of Aston Rocket in home straight. After hearing evidence from Nicole Cachia, viewing all the available race footage and acting on their observations, a warning was issued regarding the greyhound’s racing manners.
