Neo Bale and Shinjuku collided soon after the start causing Shinjuku to fall. Two Face and Okay Sam collided soon after the start. Blackpool Marvel checked off Two Face on the first turn. Blackpool Marvel checked off Miss City Girl approaching the home turn. Dashing Dante and Okay Sam collided on the home turn. Blackpool Marvel, Dashing Dante and Okay Sam collided in the home straight and again approaching the winning post causing Okay Sam and Dashing Dante to stumble.
Shinjuku underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hindleg quadriceps injury . A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
