Sandy Gem – New declared weight of 38.1kg, last raced at 36.8kg.
Spot On Cinta was quick to begin. Spot On Cinta, Nifty Nelly and Mr. Neo collided approaching the first turn severely checking Spot On Cinta. Heidi Intention contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground. Untested and Royal Arrival raced wide and collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Heidi Intention underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a ruptured ligament in a left front toe, an injured left pencil muscle and a laceration on the left stifle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
A post race sample was taken from Sandy Gem - winner of the event.
