The traditional 2-wave (odds then evens) boxing process has been re-instated for all races in Victoria from Tuesday 10 November 2020. Handlers are required to exit the area after boxing and maintain their 1.5m distance from other handlers and staff at all times. 

All persons (both Staff & Participants) attending today, undertook successful health screenings and wore face masks that in-turn, permitted entry to the venue for exclusive race-day functions and operations.

Shen Bree Girl was slow to begin.  Lunar Halo, Hurricane Sue and Aston Syrah collided soon after the start checking Hurricane Sue and severely checking Lunar Halo and Aston Syrah causing Aston Syrah to fall.  About Bob crossed out on the first turn checking Aston Shiloh.  Armstrong Bobby galloped on Charm Offensive on the first turn severely checking both greyhounds.  About Bob and Shen Bree Girl collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  

Aston Syrah underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left shin.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.

Charm Offensive underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.

Light On Tackle was quick to begin.  Aston Shogun and Rag Time Rove collided soon after the start checking Aston Shogun.  Aston Shogun visibly eased approaching the first turn and pulled up checking Star Magic.  Rag Time Rove and Shotgun Shannon collided on the first turn severely checking Shotgun Shannon, checking Star Magic, Breakaway Benji and Fray's Courage. Star Magic, Shotgun Shannon and Breakaway Benji collided approaching the home turn checking all three greyhounds.  Riverhawk, Rag Time Rove and Fray's Courage collided in the home straight.

Star Magic proved difficult to box and will be boxed first in future events in accordance with GAR 52.

Aston Shogun underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right chest muscle and right deltoid muscle.  A 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mrs. H. Collins regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the first turn. Acting under the provision of GAR 69B (1), Aston Shogun was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mrs. Collins pleaded guilty to the charge, Aston Shogun was found guilty and must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 69B (1) and pursuant to GAR 72 before any future nomination will be accepted.

Samples were taken from Aston Marlon and Girls Got Rhythm at the trainer’s kennel earlier today. 

Low Blow was quick to begin.  Major Gilbert and Ant Man were slow to begin.  Jesse Riccarton, Major Gilbert and Ant Man collided soon after the start checking Major Gilbert and Ant Man.  Girls Got Rhythm galloped on Aston Marlon on the first turn checking Girls Got Rhythm, Aston Marlon and Jezza Bence.  Girls Got Rhythm was checked off Jezza Bence approaching the home turn.  Aston Marlon was checked off Ant Man approaching the home turn.

Emma Banjo was quick to begin.  Kraken Slick and Gypsy Hook collided approaching the first turn checking Gypsy Hook.  Sneaky Mojo, Kraken Smick, Woolybully Keats and Throw Caution collided on the first turn checking Kraken Smick and Throw Caution.  California Blond and Sneaky Mojo collided on the first turn checking California Blond and Kraken Smick.  Wears Woodleigh and Emma Banlo collided several times approaching the winning post.

Stewards spoke to Mr. R. Cunneen the trainer of Emma Banjo and a warning was issued regarding the greyhound's box manners.

Sandy Gem – New declared weight of 38.1kg, last raced at 36.8kg.

Spot On Cinta was quick to begin. Spot On Cinta, Nifty Nelly and Mr. Neo collided approaching the first turn severely checking Spot On Cinta.  Heidi Intention contacted the running rail on the first turn and lost ground.  Untested and Royal Arrival raced wide and collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.

Heidi Intention underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a ruptured ligament in a left front toe, an injured left pencil muscle and a laceration on the left stifle. A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Hold On and Yellowtail Bear were quick to begin.  Star Ballerina and Rebel May Road were slow to begin.  Serengeti Icon and Star Ballerina collided soon after the start.  Hold On and Yellowtail Bear collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Serengeti Icon, Star Ballerina and Rebel May Road collided on the first turn.  Aston Kipchoge and Fully Roasted collided on the first turn.  Star Ballerina and Rebel May Road collided on the first turn checking Rebel May Road.  Serengeti Icon was checked off Yellowtail Bear approaching the second turn.  Hold On, Yellowtail Bear and Star Ballerina collided on the third turn checking Hold On and Yellowtail Bear.  Hold On and Yellowtail Bear collided in the home straight.  Rebel May Road raced wide in the home straight. 

Post-race blood and urine samples were taken from Aston Kipchoge - winner of the event.

A sample was taken from Gellar Bale at the trainer’s kennel earlier today. 

Madalia Champ, Star Night and Callum ArI were slow to begin.  My Gem and Quick Paws collided approaching the first turn checking Quick Paws.  Parabellum crossed in approaching the first turn checking My Gem.  Madalia Champ and Star Night collided on the first turn checking Star Night.

Stirling Lights, Just Burning and Barooga Dodge were quick to begin.  Zipping Sultan was slow to begin.  Notorious and Riddles collided soon after the start checking Notorious.  Stirling Lights and Just Burning collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Notorious and Weeona Bulldozer collided on the first turn and again approaching the home turn checking Notorious, Weeona Bulldozer and Just Burning.

Just Burning underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right wrist and an abraded right stopper pad.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Yazid Bale and Alecia collided soon after the start.  Hugo, Camulos and Shell Star Keats collided soon after the start checking Hugo.  Shell Star Keats was checked off Camulos approaching the first turn checking Polly Pocket. Hugo, Yazid Bale and Alecia collided approaching the home turn checking Yazid Bale and Alecia. Yazid Bale and Alecia collided on the home turn checking Alecia which raced wide and lost ground as a result.

Alecia underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.

A sample was taken from Prince Jed upon arrival at the course.

Retro Rocket and Prince Jed were slow to begin.  Go Nera, Blackest Black and Recapture Time collided approaching the first turn checking Go  Nera and Blackest Black.  Prince Jed and Magnetic Steff collided on the first turn checking Magnetic Steff.  Flossy Jo and Recapture Time collided on the first turn severely checking Recapture Time which stumbled.  Go Nera was checked off Flossy Jo approaching the home turn.  Prince Jed raced wide in the home straight.  Recapture Time cramped in the home straight and lost ground.

Recapture Time underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (cramp) Recapture Time must perform a satisfactory trial in accordance with GAR 72, before any future nomination will be accepted.

Blue Tycoon went up with the lids at box rise and was slow to begin. Gleeson was slow to begin. Chill Out Dusty, Do Good Davlin and Pop Rock collided soon after the start checking Chill Out Dusty and Do Good Davlin. Chill Out Dusty and Do Good Davlin collided on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Pop Rock and Go Twenty Two collided on the first turn checking Go Twenty Two. Go Twenty Two crossed out and raced wide entering the home straight checking Blue Tycoon.

The All Clear was delayed when the (8) greyhound, Gleeson appeared to became caught in tracking rail of the rear shutter after being loaded by the handler. It was apparent that somehow Gleeson's tail and leg had became caught in the tracking of the boxes, which caused audible discomfort to the greyhound that required the handler to return the the boxes and free the greyhound from the situation, all while the green light was on and the lure was in motion proceeding to the start. Through this extraordinary circumstance, the Stewards formed and held the opinion that Gleeson's chances were materially predjudiced by the incident and that it did not receve a fair and normal start to the race. As such, Gleeson (8) was declared as a non-starter in the event. The All Clear was given on 5 - 3 - 4 - 1 with the 8 (although running second) being a non-starter. All bets on Gleeson were ordered to be refunded. The weight recorded for Gleeson is void. 

Gleeson underwent a post race veterinary examination after the incident in the starting boxes and it was reported that the greyhound had sustained a laceration to the tail.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

A sample was taken from Valhalla Girl at the trainer’s kennel earlier today. 

This event was rescheduled to start at 11.03pm following the delay after the previous race.

Trance and Okay Sam were slow to begin.  Trance was checked off Valhalla Girl approaching the first turn.  Zambora Bear crossed in on the first turn checking Valhalla Girl, Why Not Dan and Mia's Hand.  Mia's Hand contacted the running rail approaching the home turn.

Mia's Hand underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration to the left stifle.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.
