A pre-race sample was taken from Full Moon Party.
Daph's Zac was slow to begin. Aston Samurai and Aston Achilles collided soon after the start. Zipping Higgins and Daph's Zac collided soon after the start. Aston Achilles and Daph's Zac collided soon after the start. Aston Samurai and Full Moon Party collided in the front straight. Rafael Fever, Steamy Jack and Zipping Higgins collided on the first turn checking Steamy Jack and Zipping Higgins. Aston Samurai and Zipping Higgins collided approaching the second turn. Aston Achilles, Steamy Jack and Zipping Higgins collided on the second turn checking Steamy Jack and Zipping Higgins. Steamy Jack and Zipping Higgins collided on the third turn and again approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Aston Samurai and Full Moon Party collided entering the home straight.
Steamy Jack was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained a right calf injury, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Zipping Higgins was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Rafael Fever was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found. Stewards spoke to Trainer Ms. M. Brown regarding the performance. The Stewards issued a warning regarding the racing manners of Rafael Fever on the first turn. Further, in accordance with GAR 75 (1), the Stewards requested Ms. Brown to report as soon as practicable anything that may have affected the running of Rafael Fever in the event, which was not noted by Stewards during or immediately after the event.
A post race sample was taken from Rafael Fever, the winner of the event.
