Steward's Report
A sample was taken from Zipping Whoopi upon arrival at the course.
A pre-race sample was taken from Dynamic Swan.
Percy's Legacy and Aston Saigo were quick to begin. Jane Way was slow to begin. Aston Toto, Aston Saigo, Dynamic Swan and Zipping Whoopi collided soon after the start checking Zipping Whoopi. Aston Saigo and Dynamic Swan collided approaching the first turn checking Dynamic Swan. Classy Stringer galloped on Zipping Whoopi approaching the first turn severely checking both greyhounds, Classy Stringer lost considerable ground and Zipping Whoopi fell. Aston Toto, Aston Saigo and So Hazy collided on the first turn checking Aston Saigo, causing Aston Saigo and Dynamic Swan to collide severely checking both greyhounds, Aston Saigo fell and Dynamic Swan tailed off. So Hazy and Jane Way collided approaching the home turn. Percy's Legacy and Aston Toto collided several times from the home turn to the home straight.
Aston Saigo underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured left radius/ulna and was humanely euthanised.
Dynamic Swan underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a fractured right hock. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.
Zipping Whoopi underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
