A pre-race sample was taken from Just A Giggle.
Just A Giggle was quick to begin. Hungry Eyes was slow to begin.
Mombasa and Darwin O'Connor collided soon after the start checking Darwin O'Connor. Lektra Shadow and Lektra Midnight collided approaching the first turn. Lektra Shadow and Lektra Midnight collided on the first turn checking Lektra Shadow, Lektra Midnight, Hungry Eyes and Mombasa. Darwin O' Connor checked off Mombasa on the first turn. Lektra Shadow, Mombasa and Cloudy Diamond collided approaching the home turn checking Mombasa. Lektra Shadow, Darwin O'Connor and Cloudy Diamond collided on the home turn checking Cloudy Diamond. Hungry Eyes tired over the concluding stages.
Hungry Eyes underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have cramped. A 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting in accordance with GAR 71 (Cramp) Hungry Eyes must perform a Satisfactory Trial before any future nomination will be accepted.
