Tinker Mighty and Dashing Daph were quick to begin. Ollie Mambo was slow to begin.
Darnum Dozer, Cool Story Bro, Bearing Gold and Travel Easy collided soon after the start, checking all four greyhounds. Cool Story Bro and Travel Easy collided approaching the first turn, checking Travel Easy. Cool Story Bro and Darnum Dozer collided approaching the home turn, checking both greyhounds. Tinker Mighty visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Tinker Mighty underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Mr Tabb declined to have Tinker Mighty re-vetted. Stewards spoke to Mr M Tabb, the representative of Tinker Mighty, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Tinker Mighty was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Tabb pleaded guilty to the charge, Tinker Mighty is suspended for 28 days at Ballarat and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
