Steward's Report
Megahertz, Midnight Drifter & Nitro Nana were slow to begin
Light Show crossed to the rails soon after the start and collided with Husky Freckle, checking Sense Of Wonder, Midnight Drifter and Nitro Nana. Nitro Nana and Husky Freckle collided at the 300m mark. Sense Of Wonder and Light Show collided several times at the 300m mark. Megahertz lost ground from the 300m mark. Husky Freckle clipped the heels of Swordfish Fozz at the 275m mark. Husky Freckle and Swordfish Fozz collided at the 250m mark. Sense Of Wonder clipped the heels of Midnight Drifter at the 100m mark. Nitro Nana and Husky Freckle collided approaching the winning post checking Nitro Nana.
Midnight Drifter underwent a post-race veterinary examination after falling in the catching pen and was found to have a right groin muscle injury and a spike wound. A 10 day stand down period was imposed.
Megahertz underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 7. Megahertz was found to have a spike wound on both hind paws. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr Simon Humphries, the trainer of Megahertz regarding its performance in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Megahertz must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
A post-race sample was taken from Boes Bounty - the winner of the event.
