Bluegrass Icon was quick to begin. Jackie Jai, Belle's On Boost and Miss Heart were slow to begin. Jackie Jai and Miss Heart collided on the first turn, checking Belle's On Boost. Lost Property and Miss Heart collided approaching the home turn. Nicko Express faltered entering the home straight and lost ground.
Nicko Express underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right back muscle injury. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
