In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 38.3 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.5 degrees.  

Track Curator Mr K Palmer & Mr B Smith advised that the track was medium harrowed on Thursday, December 5th.

Big Bro Zesta - Late scratching at 6:12pm due to weight variation (GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr Max Cameron was fined $100.

At the end of kennelling the outside temperature was 25.3 degrees, Stewards dispersed with the Heat Affected Policy.

Double Bolt was quick to begin.  Superior Kiki and Akina Indie were slow to begin.

Superior Kiki and Akina Indie collided approaching the first turn.  Roxy Ragdoll raced wide on the first turn.  Akina Indie checked off Roxy Ragdoll approaching the home turn causing Akina Indie to race wide.  

Gin Lee's Girl – Late scratching at 6:31pm due to non-arrival (GAR 31). A 28 day stand down period was imposed. Mr Colin Goodman informed Stewards that he had a vehicle breakdown on-route to the track. Stewards have advised Mr Goodman that evidence of the breakdown will need to be submitted, to the satisfaction of Stewards, within 48 hours of the occurrence that caused the non-arrival. The matter will be re-evaluated upon receipt of this evidence. 

Spolly's Beauty was slow to begin.  Akina Bear was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Grumpy Ray and Hayley's Hero collided approaching the first turn.  Hayley's Hero and Love To Deed collided on the first turn.  Grumpy Ray and Hayley's Hero collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.  Maverick Rosa raced wide in the home straight.

Taya Bale was slow to begin.

Gunner's Hawk checked off Leaping Lydia soon after the start.  Son Of Fabio, Taya Bale and Gunner's Hawk collided approaching the first turn checking Gunner's Hawk and Taya Bale.  Sibling, Leaping Lydia and Fine Tactics collided approaching the first turn checking Leaping Lydia; causing Leaping Lydia to race wide.  Son Of Fabio, Taya Bale and Gunner's Hawk collided on the first turn checking Gunner's Hawk and Taya Bale; causing Son Of Fabio and Taya Bale to race wide.  Leaping Lydia faltered on the second turn and tailed Off.  Son Of Fabio and Taya Bale collided on the home turn checking Taya Bale.  

Leaping Lydia underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right hock injury. A 90 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards inspected the track in the vicinity of the catching pen and deemed the track suitable for racing.

Zambora Tara was very slow to begin (3 lengths).

Braemar Tatiana and Superior Dunkley collided approaching the first turn.  Braemar Tatiana, Lennie's Flyer and Tiger Spolly collided on the first turn checking Braemar Tatiana, Lennie's Flyer, Tiger Spolly and Zambora Tara; causing No Problem John to race wide.  Tiger Spolly, Braemar Tatiana and Lennie's Flyer collided on the home turn checking Braemar Tatiana, Lennie's Flyer and Tiger Spolly; Lennie's Flyer stumbled as a result.   

Big Bubbles was quick to begin.  Gracelands and Ninetymile Lenny were slow to begin.

Pennine Way underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions over the left metacarpals. A 3 day stand down period was imposed.

Five Lights was quick to begin.

Mini Fernando, Blueflash Lenny, Chucka Khan and Doused In Mud collided approaching the first turn checking Blueflash Lenny and Doused In Mud.  Blueflash Lenny and Doused In Mud collided on the first turn checking Doused In Mud.  Five Lights and Chucka Khan collided entering the home straight checking both greyhounds.  Chucka Khan turned its head outwards and visibily eased in the home straight checking Five Lights, severely checking Mini Fernando which fell as a result, checking Taking Off and severely checking Blueflash Lenny.  

Mini Fernando underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have bruising to the inside right hind leg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Chucka Khan underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right pectoral muscle injury, a 14 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to trainer Mr Tristan New, regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Chucka Khan was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr New pleaded guilty to the charge, Chucka Khan must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
