Steward's Report
New Cross Gate was slow to begin.
Our Airman checked off Oddjob Lad soon after the start. Unrivalled Dusty checked off Oddjob Lad approaching the first turn. Oddjob Lad checked off Star Fever on the first turn and collided with Wake Up. Oddjob Lad, Star Fever and One Step Forward collided on the second turn. Oddjob Lad, Star Fever and New Cross Gate collided approaching the home turn. Oddjob Lad and Star Fever collided on the home turn. Unrivalled Dusty raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight. Our Airman checked off Star Fever on the home turn. Blue Cigar raced wide in the home straight.
A post-race sample was taken from One Step Forward - the winner of the event.
Oddjob Lad underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right monkey muscle injury. A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr W. Duniam regarding the greyhonds performance throughout the event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Oddjob Lad must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.
