Cherokee Shimmer was quick to begin.
Pinnaroo and Pyrenees Classic collided soon after the start checking Pinnaroo. Don Quixote and Paid Too Much collided approaching the first turn checking Paid Too Much. Don Quixote, Pyrenees Classic and Lock Pepper collided on the first turn checking Pyrenees Classic, Lock Pepper and Paid Too Much. Cherokee Shimmer turned its head outwards approaching the home turn colliding with and checking Chachi Arcola. Cherokee Shimmer and Chachi Arcola collided entering the home straight. Pyrenees Classic and Paid Too Much collided in the home straight. Lock Pepper galloped on Don Quixote approaching the winning post. Chachi Arcola and Cherokee Shimmer collided approaching the winning post.
Cherokee Shimmer underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Mr C Stanton the trainer of Cherokee Shimmer regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Cherokee Shimmer was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Stanton pleaded guilty to the charge, Cherokee Shimmer is suspended for 12 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(c) before any future nomination will be accepted.
