Gruff Rose checked off Honest Keithy on the first turn checking Miss Murino and Fab's Excise. Riverdale Tuohy checked off Dundee Blitz approaching the home turn. Riverdale Tuohy and Miss Murino collided on the home turn.

Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr Steven Chircop regarding the improved performance of Honest Keithy in this event. Mr Chircop explained that the greyhound was recently diagnosed with a back injury with the injury being treated accordingly. Mr Chircop further explained that the greyhound's training regime has changed whilst treating the injury. Mr Chircop stated that last start the greyhound raced over the 545m distance in an attempt to get the greyhound to lead. Mr Chircop attributed this change in training and preparation, along with finding and treating an injury, as the significant explanation as to the greyhound's improved performace. Mr Chricop's comments were noted. A post-race sample was taken from Honest Keithy - the winner of the event.
