Meraki was slow to begin.
Dr. Outlander,Is All, Heston Flyer, Midnight Gieger and Meraki collided soon after the start checking Is All, Heston Flyer and Meraki. Is All and Heston Flyer collided on the first turn checking Is All. Midnight Gieger and Dr. Mianda collided on the first turn. Midnight Gieger checked off Dr. Mianda approaching the home turn. Delta's Tiara and Go Lucy Go collided approaching the home turn. Delta’s Tiara, Go Lucy Go and Dr. Outlander collided on the home turn severely checking Go Lucy Go and checking Delta's Tiara and Dr. Outlander. Dr. Outlander, Delta's Tiara and Heston Flyer collided entering the home straight checking Delta's Tiara, Heston Flyer, Go Lucy Go and Meraki.
Representative Mr T. Churchill requested that Go Lucy Go to undergo a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a lacertion to the right saphenous (hind leg area). A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
A post-race sample was taken from Dr. Mianda - winner of the event.
