Shrek's Rose and Dewana Step were slow to begin. Luna Chick was checked off Invictus Seeker soon after the start. Aston Guinness and Angel's Prophet collided approaching the first turn. Rapid Response and Invictus Seeker collided on the first turn. Shrek's Rose and Angel's Prophet collided on the first turn checking Shrek's Rose, Angel's Prophet and Luna Chick. Shrek's Rose and Angel's Prophet collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds. Angel's Prophet crossed out on the home turn checking Luna Chick. Invictus Seeker raced wide in the home straight. Aston Guinness tired over the concluding stages of the event.
Aston Guinness underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
