In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'.  At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 40.4 degrees and the kennel temperature was 18.2 degrees.

Shrek's Rose and Dewana Step were slow to begin.  Luna Chick was checked off Invictus Seeker soon after the start.  Aston Guinness and Angel's Prophet collided approaching the first turn.  Rapid Response and Invictus Seeker collided on the first turn.  Shrek's Rose and Angel's Prophet collided on the first turn checking Shrek's Rose, Angel's Prophet and Luna Chick.  Shrek's Rose and Angel's Prophet collided approaching the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Angel's Prophet crossed out on the home turn checking Luna Chick.  Invictus Seeker raced wide in the home straight.  Aston Guinness tired over the concluding stages of the event.

Aston Guinness underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.

Timmy and Rockin' Richard were quick to begin.  Love A Talk was slow to begin.  Bag Of Lollies, Dewana Chic and Clan McMillan collided soon after the start checking Dewana Chic.  Clan McMillan faltered on the first turn and lost considerable ground.  Dr. Grayson and Black Hog Ride collided approaching the home turn.  Love A Talk and Dewana Chic collided on the home turn.  Bag Of Lollies raced wide in the home straight.

Clan McMillan underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured left wrist and a spike wound on a right hind toe.  A 5 day stand down period was imposed.

Akina Spot and Galloping Bluear were quick to begin.  Whistlin Missile and Our Blue Spolly were slow to begin.  Akina Spot and Galloping Bluear collided on the first turn checking Akina Spot.  Dr. Liana and Galloping Bluear collided on the first turn checking Dr. Zayd and Successful Sissy and severely checking Whistlin Missile, Dr. Liana, Akina Spot and Galloping Bluear, causing Dr. Liana and Akina Spot to race wide.  Dr. Liana and Galloping Bluear collided in the home straight. 

Whistlin Missile underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a laceration on a left hind toe and an abrasion on the right hock.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Mr. J. Sultana the trainer of Whistlin Missile was issued a warning in that he made contact with the rear of the boxes after boxing the greyhound pursuant to GAR 51 (10)(c).

Big Plans - late scratching at 5.20pm when Ms. K. Thorburn reported the greyhound to have diarrhoea (GAR 23).  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards will require a veterinary certificate before any future nomination will be accepted.

Heidi Intention was quick to begin.  Usain Spolly was slow to begin.  Here Runs Emilia and Causing Drama collided soon after the start.  Bigwig and Blair Bale collided approaching the first turn and again on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Usain Spolly raced wide on the home turn.  Here Runs Emilia raced wide in the home straight.

This event was re-scheduled to 8.56pm due to a torrential downpour.

Skinny La La was quick to begin.  Unit Bale and Invictus Spirit were slow to begin.  Flying Fifi crossed in approaching the first turn checking Romeo Lad.  Skinny La La and Invictus Spirit collided approaching the home turn checking Skinny La La.

Talulah Bale and Dybala were slow to begin.  Ally Oop Keats and Spotted Panther collided soon after the start.  Spotted Panther was checked off Ally Oop Keats approaching the first turn.  Talulah Bale and Thandie Bale collided on the first turn.  Thandie Bale and Dybala collided entering the home straight.  Thandie Bale and Dybala raced wide in the home straight.

Kadalex Kid was quick to begin.  Weeona Yoshi and Foxy Cruiser collided soon after the start checking Foxy Cruiser.  Notorious was checked off Ear We Come approaching the first turn.  Weeona Yoshi, Foxy Cruiser and Ear We Come collided several times in the home straight.  Kadalex Kid raced wide in the home straight.  Foxy Cruiser was checked off Weeona Yoshi approaching the winning post.

Fuel 'Em, Spolly James and Monaco Lights were quick to begin.  Spolly James and Monaco Lights collided soon after the start.  Jayville Roman crossed in on the first turn checking Rio Dixie.  Spolly Bear and Jayville Roman collided approaching the home turn and again on the home turn checking Spolly Bear and Rio Dixie.

Jackson's Valley underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right deltoid muscle.  A 7 day stand down period was imposed.  Stewards spoke to trainer Mr. E. Lieshout regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the home turn.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1) Jackson's Valley was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Lieshout pleaded guilty to the charge, Jackson's Valley must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
