Soldado and Red Hot Tears were quick to begin.

Playlist, Punk Lass Rocks and Missy Bale collided soon after the start.  Soldado and Why Not Luv collided on the first turn checking Galena Bale.  Absolute Ruby and Punk Lass Rocks collided on the first turn checking Missy Bale.  Playlist checked off Punk Lass Rocks on the first turn.  Soldado, Why Not Luv and Galena Bale collided on the second turn checking Soldado and Why Not Luv.  Punk Lass Rocks and Galena Bale collided approaching the third turn checking Punk Lass Rocks.  Punk Lass Rocks and Galena Bale collided on the home turn and again several times in the home straight.

For The Horde, Blazing Hype and Repercussions were slow to begin.

For The Horde, Atomic Icon and Lot Coin Babe collided on the first turn.  Black Beauty lost ground approaching the second turn.  Black Beauty and Sisco Ride collided on the third turn checking Black Beauty.  Black Beauty and Sisco Ride collided approaching the winning post.

Black Beauty underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to Trainer Mr T. Cortese regarding its performance approaching the second turn in this event. Stewards deemed the performance unsatisfactory, acting in accordance with GAR 71, Black Beauty must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

A pre-race sample was taken from Shanlyn Charlott.

Shanlyn Charlott was quick to begin.  Woolybully Keats and Cawbourne Scar were slow to begin.

Rock Me David and Mrs. Sharp collided soon after the start checking Mrs. Sharp.  Shanlyn Charlott, Taken and Charlie Cockatoo collided on the first turn checking Winlock Sunshine.  Rock Me David and Mrs. Sharp collided on the first turn checking Mrs. Sharp.  Woolybully Keats and Cawbourne Scar collided on the first turn.  Taken and Charlie Cockatoo collided on the first turn checking Charlie Cockatoo, Woolybully Keats and Cawbourne Scar.  Charlie Cockatoo checked off Rock Me David approaching the home turn. 

Vens Revenge and Dyna Drew were slow to begin.

Ma's Plum Jam and Bush Blossom collided soon after the start.  Striking Weetbix and Molly Coaster collided approaching the first turn.  Vens Revenge and Bush Blossom collided on the first turn checking Bush Blossom, Sunny's Kayo and Molly Coaster.  Dyna Drew and Whodat Lookin' collided on the first turn.  Bush Blossom and Sunny's Kayo collided on the first turn.  Ma's Plum Jam and Striking Weetbix collided approaching the home turn.  Bush Blossom and Molly Coaster collided on the home turn.

Renewed, Rockstar Beav and Mepunga Frankie were slow to begin.

Renewed checked off Tough Tears approaching the first turn.  Rockstar Beav and Cosmic Sparkle collided on the second turn.  Renewed and Cabin Fever collided entering the back straight checking Here's Tears and Rockstar Beav.  Here's Tears clipped the heels of Cabin Fever approaching the fifth turn.  Mepunga Frankie and Cabin Fever collided in the home straight.  Tough Tears tired over the concluding stages.

Tough Tears underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported. Stewards spoke to representative Mr P. Riley regarding the below market expectation performance in this event. Mr Riley stated that in his opinion the greyhound is not suited to the 715m distance. Stewards will follow-up with the kennel in the coming days regarding the greyhound's recovery and immediate racing future. 

The 'All Clear' was delayed to allow Stewards to review all available footage for this event after Saint Destructor ran back in the opposite direction towards the oncoming field as the greyhounds entered the home straight. After viewing the official replays and acting on their own observations Stewards were comfortably satisfied that the placings were not affected by Saint Destructor and as such all clear was declared. 

Spokane Flick was slow to begin.

Rockstar Prince and Busy Bella collided approaching the first turn checking Busy Bella and Go Commando.  Weeona Bulldozer and Saint Destructor collided approaching the first turn.  Saint Destructor and Tauwitchere collided on the first turn checking Tauwitchere and severely checking Saint Destructor which fell as a result checking Go Commando.  Tauwitchere was inconvenienced entering the home straight by the fallen greyhound Saint Destructor that had ran back in the opposite direction.  

Saint Destructor underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a minor abrasion to the left hindleg. No stand down period was imposed.

Aston Cade and Go Pappa Go collided soon after the start.  Bourbski Bar galloped on Valencia Gem on the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Vesper Bale and Go Pappa Go collided entering the home straight checking Go Pappa Go.  

Mepunga Daniel and Immediate collided approaching the first turn.  Mepunga Daniel, Shanlyn Deano and Immediate collided approaching the first turn checking Shanlyn Deano.  Onions O'Reilly and Shanlyn Deano collided on the first turn checking Shanlyn Deano.  Mepunga Daniel and Lagoon Rhett collided on the third turn.  

An out of competition sample was taken from Mega Dossa on 7 January 2020 pursuant to GAR 79A.

Mega Dossa was quick to begin.  Shadow Mist was slow to begin. 

Facing The Music and Rock Me Gorgeous collided approaching the first turn.  Double Tactic, Facing The Music, Rock Me Gorgeous and Insuperable collided on the first turn checking Facing The Music and Rock Me Gorgeous.  Double Tactic checked off Spring Hummer on the first turn checking Insuperable.  Spring Hummer brushed the running rail on the third turn and lost ground.  Insuperable and Double Tactic collided on the third turn.  Spring Hummer and Rock Me Gorgeous collided on the home turn.  Spring Hummer tired over the concluding stages.

Spring Hummer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a left back muscle injury.  A 21 day stand down period was imposed.

A post-race sample was taken from Philadelphia Pip - winner of the event. 

Zipping Murphy, Lightning Beach and Striking Tiger collided soon after the start checking all three greyhounds.  Striking Tiger and Volcanic Lava collided approaching the first turn checking both greyhounds.  Unwanted Lady checked off Imminent Reality on the first turn checking Zipping Hilton.  Volcanic Lava and Zipping Hilton collided on the second turn checking Volcanic Lava.  Striking Tiger and My Attitude collided on the third turn checking My Attitude.  Zipping Hilton marred My Attitude on the home turn checking both greyhounds.

Zipping Hilton underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.

Stewards spoke to Mr A. Azzopardi, the trainer of Zipping Hilton regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(1) Zipping Hilton was charged with marring. Mr Azzopardi pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Hilton is suspended for 28 days at Sandown and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Mr D. Pell requested an early race endorsement for Ride High. The endorsement was approved for Ride High after an examination prior to racing by the on-track veterinarian. Stewards directed the greyhound compete in Early Races only until further notice.

A pre-race sample was taken from Little Tubbsy. 

Undisputed was quick to begin.  Optimus Dusty and Ride High were slow to begin.

Litte Tubbsy and Undisputed collided soon after the start.  Nate's Awesome and Inter Santina collided approaching the first turn. Inter Santina and Chasing Rex collided on the first turn causing Inter Santina and Ride High to fall.  Chasing Rex and Optimus Dusty collided on the first turn.  Optimus Dusty and Nate's Awesome collided approaching the third turn.  

Inter Santina underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have abrasions to the left hind and fore legs and to the right hind leg. No stand down period was imposed. 

Ride High underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have an abrasion to the left hind foot.  No stand down period was imposed.

Jeda's Girl was quick to begin.  

Why Not Paps and Chop Suey collided soon after the start.  Chop Suey checked off Why Not Paps approaching the first turn.  Why Not Paps and Weblec Wizz collided on the first turn.  Weblec Wizz and Bush Song collided on the first turn checking Weblec Wizz and severely checking Bush Song.  Zambora Andy and Why Not Paps collided approaching the second turn and again approaching the home turn.
