Steward's Report
In accordance with the GRV Hot Weather Policy, this meeting was deemed 'Heat Affected'. At the commencement of kennelling, the outside temperature was 29.6 degrees and the kennel temperature was 17.8 degrees.
Angel's Prophet - new declared weight of 27.6kg, last raced at 26.3kg.
Leo Rose and Angel's Prophet were slow to begin. Rockin' Richard and Bellafonte collided soon after the start. Play Win and Leo Rose collided approaching the first turn checking Play Win and Bellafonte. Angel's Prophet and Bellafonte collided on the first turn checking Bellafonte. Leo Rose and Rockin' Richard collided on the first turn checking Rockin' Richard and Play Win. Snooker Que and Leo Rose collided entering the home straight. Bellafonte visibly eased in the home straight and again approaching the winning post and collided with Angel's Prophet. Zambora Lulu visibly eased approaching the winning post.
Rockin' Richard underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have a split webbing on the left hind foot. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Zambora Lulu underwent a post race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 4. Zambora Lulu was found to have an injured right monkey muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. L. Rowe the trainer of Zambora Lulu regarding the greyhound's racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Zambora Lulu was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Rowe pleaded not guilty to the charge, Zambora Lulu must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Bellafonte underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right pencil muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed. Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Pollutro the representative for Bellafonte regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight and approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(B)(1), Bellafonte was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr. Pollutro pleaded guilty to the charge, Bellafonte must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
