Steward's Report
Crakalakin Caity, Voluptuous Blue and Quick Finance collided soon after the start. Gracelands, Owlette and River Crossing collided approaching the first turn checking Owlette. Gracelands and Maximum Trina collided approaching the first turn. Maximum Trina and Quick Finance collided approaching the home turn. River Crossing and Maximum Trina collided on the home turn. Owlette turned its head and visibly eased in the home straight and collided with Gracelands checking Gracelands. Owlette, River Crossing and Gracelands collided approaching the winning post.
Owlette underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have an injured right deltoid muscle and left chest muscle. A 7 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Pollutro the representative for Owlette regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Owlette was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Pollutro pleaded guilty to the charge, Owlette is suspended for 28 days at Waragul and must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
