Steward's Report
Cracked Pepper was quick to begin. Flying Solo was checked off Haunting soon after the start. Kraken Jonny crossed to the rail on the first turn checking Haunting and Tinker Chuck and causing Cracked Pepper to fall; Flying Solo was checked as a result. Tinker Chuck, Mac's Mayhem and Haunting collided approaching the home turn. Kraken Jonny visibly eased on the home turn and collided with Pink Tiara causing both greyhounds to race wide. Kraken Jonny visibly eased in the home straight.
Cracked Pepper underwent a post race veterinary examination and was found to have injured left and right thigh muscles, left and right quadriceps muscles and left triangle muscle. A 14 day stand down period was imposed.
Kraken Johnny underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Ms. N. Lund declined her option to have the greyhound re- vetted.
Stewards spoke to Ms. N. Lund the trainer of Kraken Jonny regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kraken Jonny was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Ms. Lund pleaded guilty to the charge, Kraken Jonny is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
