Steward's Report
Following the running of Race 3, the seals on kennel bays 5-12 were broken to enable Stewards and the Club Veterinary Surgeon to inspect all runners due to illness concerns. A visual inspection of all greyhounds kenneled revealed no abnormalities. All kennel bays were re-sealed in the presence of Stewards, club staff and the Club Veterinary Surgeon.
Montaya and Selynya Teddy collided soon after the start, checking Selynya Teddy. Montaya checked off Zipping Hector on the second turn. Montaya and Zipping Hector collided in the home straight on several occasions, checking Zipping Hector.
After reviewing the head-on footage of the event, Stewards spoke to Mr. P. Franklin, the trainer of Montaya and issued a warning regarding the greyhound's racing manners in the home straight.
Montaya underwent a post-race veterinary examination - no apparent injury was reported.
