Steward's Report
Following the running of Race 3, the seals on kennel bays 5-12 were broken to enable Stewards and the Club Veterinary Surgeon to inspect all runners due to illness concerns. A visual inspection of all greyhounds kenneled revealed no abnormalities. All kennel bays were re-sealed in the presence of Stewards, club staff and the Club Veterinary Surgeon.
Cherokee Cash and Claretown Rocky collided soon after the start. Furnace Bale checked off Claretown Rocky soon after the start. Slingshot Chas and Permit Granted collided approaching the first turn. Furnace Bale, Galway Grange, Claretown Rocky and Permit Granted collided on the first turn, checking Cherokee Cash. Aston Genesis checked off Debt Hacker approaching the home turn. Permit Granted crossed to the rail approaching the home turn. Permit Granted checked off Debt Hacker on the home turn. Aston Genesis and Furnace Bale collided on the home turn. Aston Genesis checked off Galway Grange entering the home straight. Permit Granted eased and turned his head outwards approaching the winning post and collided with Slingshot Chas, checking Slingshot Chas.
Permit Granted underwent a post-race veterinary examination was found to have an abrasion, right hind leg. A 5 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Bull, the trainer of Permit Granted regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69 (A)(1) Permit Granted was charged with with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr.P. Bull pleaded not guilty to the charge, Permit Granted was found guilty and suspended for 3 months at all tracks and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(b) before any future nomination will be accepted.
