Fabriola Acai and Zipping Monica collided soon after the start, checking Fabriola Acai. Byron Bale and Gleeson collided approaching the first turn, checking Byron Bale. Byron Bale checked off Sadie Bale approaching the first turn. Lonnie Loot, American Star and Fabriola Acai collided on the first turn, checking all three greyhounds. Fabriola Acai raced wide on the home turn and collided with Zipping Monica, checking Zipping Monica. Lonnie Loot checked off Byron Bale in the home straight. American Star and Fabriola Acai collided approaching the winning post, checking American Star.
