A pre-race sample was taken from Ohana Sparkles.
Fine for Me and Bomber's Return collided soon after the start. Fine For Me, Bomber's Return and Perfect Marshall collided approaching the first turn. Ivey's Affair was checked off Fine For Me and Bomber's Return on the first turn causing Ivey's Affair and Ohana Sparkles to collide. Fine For Me was checked off Perfect Marshall on the first turn. Ivey's Affair raced wide on the home turn. Bomber's Return visibly eased, turned its head and collided with Fine For Me on the home turn. Bomber's Return visibly eased and turned its head in the home straight.
Bomber's Return underwent a post race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported. Trainer Mr. G. Green declined his option to have the greyhound re-vetted.
Stewards spoke to Mr. G. Green the trainer of Bomber's Return regarding the greyhound's racing manners on the home turn and in the home straight. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Bomber's Return was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr. Green pleaded not guilty to the charge, Bomber's Return was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a satisfactory trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
