Claretown Boris and Big Barra were slow to begin. Millie's Angel, Sky Rising and Glascoe Sally collided approaching the first turn checking Millie's Angel. Millie's Angel and Big Barra collided approaching the first turn severely checking Millie's Angel. Lily The Weapon and Akut collided on the home turn and again in the home straight.
Millie's Angel underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury was reported.
