Javaica and Kayo Marciarno were slow to begin.  Danyo's Vassy and Malvado collided approaching the first turn.  Malvado and Major Blitz collided approaching the first turn, checking Major Blitz, Kayo Marciarno and Javaica.  Malvado and Flaming Paddy collided approaching the home turn, checking Malvado.  Danyo's Vassy checked off Mister Curtis approaching the home turn.  Major Blitz eased approaching the home turn, checking Malvado.  Javaica galloped on Major Blitz on the home turn, checking Javaica and Malvado and causing Major Blitz to fall.  Dr. Kalessie, Danyo's Vassy and Kayo Marciarno collided approaching the winning post, checking Kayo Marciarno.

Major Blitz was vetted following the event and re-vetted after race 7.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injury to the left pencil and right triangle.  A 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(5), the Stewards charged Major Blitz with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury) and directed that the greyhound peform a satisfactory trial pursuant to GAR 69(6), before any future nomination will be accepted.
