Steward's Report
Melally Boy – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a fractured left wrist. A new declared weight of 30.6kgs was also declared, last raced at 32.3kgs
Emma's Not Happy – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from an injury and seasonal spell. A new declared weight of 28.4kgs was also declared, last raced at 27.2kgs.
A pre-race sample was taken from Emma's Not Happy.
Akina Bear was very slow to begin (4 lengths).
Akina Bear raced wide on the first turn. Melally Boy and Trois Femmes collided several times from the first turn to the home turn. Kip Your Star crossed out, eased and collided with Emma's Not Happy checking Emma's Not Happy. Melally Boy and Akina Bear collided entering the home straight.
Kip Your Star underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was also re-vetted following race 6. No apparent injury could be detected.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Kipirtidis, the trainer of Kip Your Star regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn. Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Kip Your Star was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kipirtidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Kip Your Star is suspended for 28 days at Warragul and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
