Midnight Muscat, Doran's Call and Zharnel were slow to begin.
Zharnel and Nunniong Miss collided soon after the start. Doran's Call, Qatar Girl, Zharnel and Ninniong Miss collided at the 250m severely checking Zharnel and Nunniniong Miss. Zharnel and Nunniong Miss at the 200m mark. Doran's Call, Tinker Bess and Big Mary collided at the 200m mark. Big Mary faltered at the 150m mark.
Big Mary underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain. A 14 stand down period was imposed.
