Steward's Report
Last Outlaw and Buddy Blinx were slow to begin and collided several times from soon after the start to the 150m mark checking both greyhounds. Last Outlaw and Samba King collided at the 100m mark.
MEETING COMMENTS:
On Sunday, 3 March 2019, Stewards questioned Mr R Gladman (representing Trainer - Ms L Farquhar) and also Ms Lisa Farquhar via telephone link-up regarding the circumstances leading to the withdrawal of Ebby’s Plan in Event 2. Acting under the provisions of GAR 23(3), Stewards directed Ms Farquhar present Ebby’s Plan for a veterinary examination following kennelling at the Ballarat meeting on Monday, 4 March, 2019. Ms Farquar complied with this direction and Ebby's Plan was found to have a sprained hock. A 10 day stand down penalty was imposed effective 4 March, 2019.
Stewards today conducted a preliminary Inquiry regarding an incident which occurred within the surrounds of the kennel block involving licensed persons - Messrs Stephen Brincat and Calven Russell following the running of Event 6 today. Stewards have adjourned the Inquiry to a date and time to be fixed.
The following Greyhounds performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial – The trail took place over 300m with 4 required to trial. The winning time of trial was 16.91:
Shakey Cougar – Was stood down from racing at Healesville for Fail To Chase by reason of injury. Weighing 31.8kgs and beginning from box 8, Shakey Cougar placed third and was beaten by 0.5 lengths. Shakey Cougar has been cleared to race at all tracks.
Miss Ladekey – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory trial as the greyhound has not competed in an event for in excess of six months due to a change in kennels. Weighing 25.8kgs and beginning from box 1, Miss Ladekey placed second and was beaten by a neck. Miss Ladekey has been cleared to race.
SPPLEMENTARY REPORT 15/03/2019
Stewards adjourned the Inquiry to assess the evidence taken on the day from licensed Trainers – Mr Stephen Brincat, Mr Calven Russell, Ms Shelley Warde and HGA Employee – Ms Kahlia Johnson and to also view the CCTV footage of the area in which the incident took place. Stewards concluded their investigation on the 15th of March 2019 and after considering all the evidence before them, issued a warning to both participants – Messrs Stephen Brincat and Calven Russell to ensure they behave in a manner which is expected of a licensed person.
