Lightfoot Lass and Miss Laquisha collided several times from the 200m mark to the 50m mark. Ruth's Girl and Amber's Dolly collided approaching the 50m mark.

Amber's Dolly underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr G. Edwards, the trainer of Amber's Dolly regarding the greyhounds racing manners soon after the start.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Amber's Dolly was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Edwards pleaded not guilty to the charge, Amber's Dolly was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

None So Special – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing following a spell.

Nice Surprise and was quick to begin. Firework Joey was slow to begin.

Nice Surprise, None So Special and Mt. View Gift collided soon after the start checking Mt. View Gift. Berry Bound and Breakaway Bandit collided several times from the 250m mark to the 200m mark.

A sample was taken from Aston Xanadu upon arrival at the course.

Blazing Sword was slow to begin. Superior Hunter stumbled at box rise.

Blazing Sword and Aston Xanadu collided at the 250m mark checking Blazing Sword.

A pre-race sample was taken from Oliva's Pearl.

Titanium Springs and On Degoey were quick to begin. Yondu and Olivia's Pearl were slow to begin.

Olivia's Pearl and Titanium Springs collided soon after the start, Olivia's Pearl muzzle dislodged as a result. Yondu crossed to the outside soon after the start. Soda Ezy checked off Shooter's Ajax at the 300m mark. Titanium Springs and Shooter's Ajax collided at the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark. Titanium Springs eased at the 50m mark. Olivia's Pearl tired over the concluding stages.

Titanium Springs underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was re-examined following race 6, no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr S. Brincat, the representative of Titanium Springs regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the winning post  Acting under the provisions of GAR 69(A)(1) Titanium Springs was charged with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Brincat pleaded not guilty to the charge, Titanium Springs was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Healesville and must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.

An out of competition sample was taken from Run Fast Bonnie on 7 March, 2019 pursuant to GAR 79A.

A sample was taken from Ruby's Boy upon arrival at the course.

Ultimate Amadeus and Superior Pal were slow to begin.

Superior Pal checked off Woody's My Name soon after the start. Woody's My Name and Run Fast Bonnie collided at the 200m mark. Ultimate Amadeus checked off Superior Pal at the 100m mark.

Midnight Muscat, Doran's Call and Zharnel were slow to begin. 

Zharnel and Nunniong Miss collided soon after the start. Doran's Call, Qatar Girl, Zharnel and Ninniong Miss collided at the 250m severely checking Zharnel and Nunniniong Miss. Zharnel and Nunniong Miss at the 200m mark. Doran's Call, Tinker Bess and Big Mary collided at the 200m mark. Big Mary faltered at the 150m mark.

Big Mary underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a right carpal sprain. A 14 stand down period was imposed.

Inter Elesha – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a spell. Inter Elesha – New declared weight of 29.1kgs, last raced at 27.3kgs.

French Defence – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a toe injury.

Speed Alert – New declared weight of 30.1kgs, last raced at 28.8kgs.

Myrinong Cosmo and Doran's Grove were slow to begin.

Inter Elesha, Speed Alert, Looking Down and All Inn Tara collided soon after the start. Speed Alert and All Inn Tara at the 250m mark. Black Pocket checked off Looking Down at the 250m mark. Doran's Grove and Inter Elesha collided several times at the 150m checking Inter Elesha. Doran's Grove crossed to the outside at the 100m mark.

Speed Alert underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have mild abrasion on the right tarsus. A 3 stand down period was imposed.

Our China Plate – Not raced for in excess of 3 months and is returning to racing from a spell.

Our China Plate jumped awkwardly at the start and was slow to begin. Stella View was slow to begin.

Stella View, Rhino Rex and Brave Innings collided soon after the start. Brave Innings and Flash Apollo collided at the 300m mark. Rhino Rex and Brave Innings collided approaching the 250m mark and again at the 200m mark.

Flash Apollo underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. Stewards spoke to Mr J. Formosa and issued a warning regarding the greyhounds racing manners at the 150m mark.

Tat Ox was slow to begin.

Lost Horizon and Blonde Bella collided at the 250m mark. Winlock Squints and Oz Wizard collided at the 250m mark. Blonde Bella checked off Lost Horizon approaching the 200m mark.

Mareth underwent a post-race veterinary examination and was found to have a sore pelvis and a mild abrasion. A 7 stand down period was imposed.

Select Minister and Further Dreamer were slow to begin.

Black In Town and Lucky Gypsy collided soon after the start and again at the 250m mark. Further Dreamer checked off Lucky Gypsy at the 200m mark and collided with Black In Town. 

Further Dreamer underwent a post-race veterinary examination and no apparent injury could be detected. 

Last Outlaw and Buddy Blinx were slow to begin and collided several times from soon after the start to the 150m mark checking both greyhounds. Last Outlaw and Samba King collided at the 100m mark.

MEETING COMMENTS:

On Sunday, 3 March 2019, Stewards questioned Mr R Gladman (representing Trainer - Ms L Farquhar) and also Ms Lisa Farquhar via telephone link-up regarding the circumstances leading to the withdrawal of Ebby’s Plan in Event 2.  Acting under the provisions of GAR 23(3), Stewards directed Ms Farquhar present Ebby’s Plan for a veterinary examination following kennelling at the Ballarat meeting on Monday, 4 March, 2019.   Ms Farquar complied with this direction and Ebby's Plan was found to have a sprained hock.  A 10 day stand down penalty was imposed effective 4 March, 2019.

Stewards today conducted a preliminary Inquiry regarding an incident which occurred within the surrounds of the kennel block involving licensed persons - Messrs Stephen Brincat and Calven Russell following the running of Event 6 today.  Stewards have adjourned the Inquiry to a date and time to be fixed.

The following Greyhounds performed a Stewards Satisfactory Trial – The trail took place over 300m with 4 required to trial. The winning time of trial was 16.91:

Shakey Cougar – Was stood down from racing at Healesville for Fail To Chase by reason of injury. Weighing 31.8kgs and beginning from box 8, Shakey Cougar placed third and was beaten by 0.5 lengths. Shakey Cougar has been cleared to race at all tracks.

Miss Ladekey – Performed a Stewards Satisfactory trial as the greyhound has not competed in an event for in excess of six months due to a change in kennels.  Weighing 25.8kgs and beginning from box 1, Miss Ladekey placed second and was beaten by a neck. Miss Ladekey has been cleared to race.

SPPLEMENTARY REPORT 15/03/2019

Stewards adjourned the Inquiry to assess the evidence taken on the day from licensed Trainers – Mr Stephen Brincat, Mr Calven Russell, Ms Shelley Warde and HGA Employee – Ms Kahlia Johnson and to also view the CCTV footage of the area in which the incident took place.  Stewards concluded their investigation on the 15th of March 2019 and after considering all the evidence before them, issued a warning to both participants – Messrs Stephen Brincat and Calven Russell to ensure they behave in a manner which is expected of a licensed person.
