Steward's Report

Buckle Up Leo was a late scratching at 2:47pm on Veterinary advice (GAR 37)(fleas). No stand down period was imposed. Stewards will require a veterinary certificate of clearance, before any future nomination will be accepted. 

Annaley Rooka, Meehan Phil and Lektra Miss were slow to begin.

Meehan Phil, Go Zippy Go and Voluptuous Blue collided on the first turn checking Meehan Phil, Aladdin Prince and Lektra Miss; severely checking Go Zippy Go.  Aladdin Prince and Lektra Miss collided approaching the home turn.  Meehan Phil and Voluptuous Blue collided approaching the home turn and agin on the home turn checking both greyhounds.  Zipping Brandy marred Voluptuous Blue several times from the home turn to approaching the winning post checking Meehan Phil; severely checking Voluptuous Blue.  

Zipping Brandy was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained shin soreness to right foreleg and an injury to the right elbow, a 21 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms S. Northway, the trainer of the greyhound Zipping Brandy regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn to approaching the winning post.  Acting under GAR 69(1) stewards charged Zipping Brandy with marring. Ms Northway pleaded guilty to the charge, Zipping Brandy was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
