Steward's Report
Rose Fawn was a late scratching at 9:03am due to the greyhound being on season (GAR 24). A 28 day stand down period was imposed.
Only Wish and Superior Pal was slow to begin.
Superior Pal checked off Conkacoin approaching the first turn. Conkacoin and Superior Pal collided on the first turn checking Superior Pal. Catcha Nugget eased on the first turn. Saw Blaze eased and failed to pursue the lure approaching the home turn checking Catcha Nugget.
Catcha Nugget was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr A. Ferguson, the trainer of the greyhound Catcha Nugget regarding the greyhounds racing manners on the first turn. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Catcha Nugget with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Ferguson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Catcha Nugget was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Kipirtidis, the trainer of the greyhound Saw Blaze regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn. Saw Blaze was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained injuries to the right wrist and left calf, a 5 day stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Saw Blaze with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Kipirtidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Saw Blaze was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
