A pre-race sample was taken from Santana.
Santana, Humble Inquiry and Easy Tash were slow to begin.
Come On Levendi and Dreamliner collided soon after the start checking Dreamliner. Come On Levendi, Santana and Dark Stealth collided approaching the first turn checking Santana and Dark Stealth. Santana checked off Come On Levendi approaching the first turn. Dark Stealth and Santana collided on the first turn. Dark Stealth eased on the second turn and failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight. Dreamliner eased approaching the home turn and again entering the home straight. Come On Levendi failed to pursue the lure with due commitment in the home straight.
Dark Stealth was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained mild dehydration, a 3 day stand down period was imposed.
Stewards spoke to Mr I. Anderson the trainer of the greyhound Dark Stealth regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the second turn/in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Dark Stealth with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Anderson pleaded not guilty to the charge, Dark Stealth was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Come On Levendi was vetted and revetted following event 9. It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.
Stewards spoke to Mr S. Kipirtidis, the trainer of the greyhound Come On Levendi regarding the greyhounds racing manners in the home straight. Acting under GAR 69(A)(1) stewards charged Come On Levendi with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment. Mr Kipirtidis pleaded guilty to the charge, Come On Levendi was found guilty and suspended for 28 days at Cranbourne and it was directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks), pursuant to GAR 69(A)(2)(a) before any future nomination will be accepted.
Stewards spoke to Mr P. Pollutro, the trainer of the greyhound Dreamliner regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn/entering the home straight. Dreamliner was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an abrasion to the left hind paw. No stand down period was imposed. Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the stewards charged Dreamliner with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury). Mr Pollutro pleaded guilty to the charge, Dreamliner was found guilty and stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.
