Oakmont Fury was vetted following the event.  It was reported that there was no apparent injury found.

Stewards spoke to Ms A. Courts, the representative of the greyhound Oakmont Fury.  Stewards deemed the performance of Oakmont Fury unsatisfactory in this event and acting in accordance with GAR 71, Stewards directed that Oakmont Fury must perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) before any future nomination will be accepted.

Stewards issued a warning to Mr K. Tirchett, the trainer of Magical Diamond, regarding his failure to appear at the kennels by the appointed time to retrieve the greyhound for racing.

I'm Circus and Manila Sprite were slow to begin.

Unwanted Lady, Dyna Nelly and Pocket Monster collided soon after the start checking Dyna Nelly and Pocket Monster.  Pocket Monster and I'm Circus collided approaching the first turn checking I'm Circus.  Pocket Monster raced wide rounding the turn and in the home straight.  I'm Circus checked off Dyna Nelly on the home turn.

Giant Jarvis was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained bruising and an abrasion to the left gastrocnemius, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.

Moonbeam was vetted following an incident with the finish on lure.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained a left metatarsal fracture, a 60 day stand down period was imposed.

Stewards spoke to Ms. A. Courts, the representative of Dyna Alita, regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Dyna Alita last raced on 24/4/18. Ms. Courts stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an extended spell.

The Club Veterinary Surgeon examined Blue Gene Bowie and no illness was detected. The greyhound was a late scratching at 2:07pm due to weight variation(GAR 39). A 10 day stand down period was imposed. Trainer Mr J. Barnes was fined the sum of $100.

Damo's Pineapple was quick to begin.  Ninetymile Donny was slow to begin.

Buddie's Al and Big Tilly collided soon after the start.  Ninetymile Donny checked off Damo's Pineapple on the first turn.  Ninetymile Donny and Big Tilly collided on the home turn.  Buddie's Al and Mema Wibble raced wide in the home straight. 

Bluey Can Fly and Monoak were slow to begin.

Chase The Nugget and Able collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds.  Pharoah's Dream and Blackpool Tipsy collided soon after the start.  Riverdale Paddy and Sin And Spin collided approaching the first turn checking Riverdale Paddy.  Pharoah's Dream checked off Blackpool Tipsy on the first turn.  Able and Chase The Nugget collided on the first turn checking Chase The Nugget.  Chase The Nugget galloped on Bluey Can Fly approaching the home turn.  Pharoah's Dream and Able raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.

Supplementary Report - Geelong 10/8/2018 – Race 1

Stewards at Horsham today re-opened an enquiry regarding trainer, Mr Lindsay Morshead, leaving the course without permission and with regards to the racing manners of Chachi Arcola approaching the home turn in race one at Geelong on Friday, 10 August 2018.

Stewards spoke to Mr Lindsay Morshead, the trainer of the greyhound Chachi Arcola regarding the greyhounds racing manners approaching the home turn.  Chachi Arcola was vetted following the event.  It was reported that the greyhound sustained left hindleg calf and right hindleg thigh muscle injuries, a 10 day stand down period was imposed.  Acting under GAR 69(B)(1), the Stewards charged Chachi Arcola with failing to pursue the lure with due commitment (by reason of injury).  Mr Morshead pleaded guilty to the charge, Chachi Arcola was found guilty and Stewards directed that the greyhound perform a Satisfactory Trial (all tracks) pursuant to GAR 69(B)(1)(a), before any future nomination will be accepted.

In taking evidence, Stewards accepted the explanation of Mr Morshead as to his reason for the leaving the course.
