Giant Jarvis, Bushman's Mate and Dashing Dyson were slow to begin.
Moonbeam and Loch Mac collided soon after the start checking both greyhounds. Bushman's Mate, Mr. No Worries, Cruising Stella and Loch Mac collided soon after the start checking Mr. No Worries and Cruising Stella. Giant Jarvis, Bushman's Mate and Loch Mac collided approaching the first turn checking Bushman's Mate and Mr. No Worries. Mr. No Worries checked off Cruising Stella on the first turn. Loch Mac and Giant Jarvis collided on the first turn checking Loch Mac and severely checking Giant Jarvis. Dashing Dyson and Moonbeam collided on the home turn checking both greyhounds. Cruisy's Angle raced wide on the home turn and in the home straight.
