Temperature prior to this event - outside 26.0 degrees, kennels 19.4 degrees.
Stewards spoke to Mr. J. Thompson the representative for Street Outlaw regarding the length of time the greyhound has had between races. Street Outlaw last raced on 01/08/18. Mr. Thompson stated that the greyhound was returning to racing following an injury to both achillies.
Elfstar and May Haze collided soon after the start checking May Haze. Elfstar clipped the heels of Street Outlaw approaching the first turn severely checking Elfstar and Macalister Ike, Elfstar fell as a result.
Macalister Ike was vetted following the event. It was reported that there was no injury apparent.
Elfstar was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured right sesamoid, a 7 day stand down period was imposed.
