Steward's Report
This meeting is deemed Hot Weather Affected. The outside temperature when kennels opened was 35 degrees. At the close of kennelling the outside temperature was 32.1 degrees and the kennel temperature 18.4 degrees, and the kennel humidity was 51.7%.
The outside temperature at race start time was 31.9 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 18.4 degrees, and the humidity was 51.7%.
Lonesome Sam was quick to begin. Galway Icon, Crackerjack Tys and Tat Chloe were slow to begin. Galway Icon, Crackerjack Tys and Tat Chloe collided approaching the first turn. Figment and Wicked Reason collided approaching the first turn checking Figment. Tat Chloe and Crackerjack Tys collided on the first turn checking Tat Chloe. Figment and Wicked Reason collided approaching the home turn. Lonesome Sam clipped the heels of Wicked Reason on the home turn. Calleva clipped the heels of Figment entering the home straight checking Figment which collided with Wicked Reason. Calleva, Figment and Wicked Reason collided entering the home straight. Punch Out raced wide in the home straight.
After reviewing available race footage, Stewards issued a warning to Mrs Julie Chilcott, the representative of Wicked Reason regarding the greyhound’s racing manners on the home turn.
Stewards spoke to Miss Shae Greening, representative of Figment in regards to the greyhounds racing manners on the home turn, after reviewing the available race footage took no further action.
