The outside temperature at race start time was 23.2 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 17.9 degrees, and the humidity was 54.5.
Proven Lies and Lava Lamp were slow to begin. Mask, Spring Shower and Little Dynamo collided soon after the start checking Spring Shower. Cosmic Spur, Mask, Little Dynamo and Almendra collided approaching the first turn checking Mask and Little Dynamo and causing Almendra to collide with Proven Les.
