Steward's Report
The outside temperature when kennels opened was 30 degrees.
The outside temperature at race start time was 32.7 degrees, the inside kennel temperature immediately prior to the race when the greyhounds were retrieved was 20.2 degrees, and the humidity was 58.4.
Stewards issued a warning to Mr J.Donaldon pursuant to GAR 86 (ag) for transporting greyhounds in a trailer not in compliance with the requirements of a heat affected meeting and cautioned that punitive sanctions will be forthcoming for any future breaches.
Mr. Vinnie, Panther Lane, Eretria and Janray Wild One were slow to begin.
Mr. Vinnie and Eretria collided soon after the start. Mareth and Dirty Stella collided soon after the start and again at the 300m mark. Janray Wild One, Tiger Minstrel, Mareth and Dirty Stella collided approaching the 250m mark. Delta's Tiara crossed to the inside at the 200m mark colliding with Dirty Stella, Tiger Minstrel and Eretria in turn checking Tiger Minstrel. Janray Wild One and Panther Lane collided at the 150m mark. Dirty Stella and Janray Wild One collided at the 100m mark. Janray Wild One checked off Panther Lane approaching the 50m mark.
Dirty Stella was vetted following the event. It was reported that the greyhound sustained an injured left monkey muscle, a 5 day stand down period was imposed.
